When asked what he looks for in people, Warren Buffet said, "You're looking for three things, generally, in a person. Intelligence, energy, and integrity. And if they don't have the last one, don't bother with the first two."
So why is integrity so important? These days, anybody can claim to be an expert on anything. You can create a blog or a website and reach thousands of people with whatever message you choose to share. And while the integrity of your character may not immediately come into question, at some point along the way, it probably will.
Being open, vulnerable, honest and transparent with your customers, coworkers, or even family is a key building block to your future success. Don't let short term temptations jeopardize your future success. Stick to your values and your mission and do things the right way. Even that means it takes a little longer! Trust the process.
Having integrity is #1...without it, you have nothing. Dr. Henry Cloud's book titled Integrity outlines how our character may prevent us from achieving all that we want to (or could) be.
